Tour Host Profile

Rancho Roble Winery
Lincoln

Owners: Mark and Therese Adams

Mark and Therese Adams have deep roots in grape growing and wine making, and they have planted these roots in Placer County. Twelve years ago they purchased 12 acres in Lincoln and began the process of restoring the long-vacant home on the property and preparing the soil for vines. They planted Syrah grapes in 1999 and Barbera in 2000, and released their first wines in 2005. Today they have 2 ½ acres planted. Their Terra Cotta line is bottled in honor of the Adams’ long relationship with Feats of Clay, the annual art show presented at the historic Gladding McBean factory in Lincoln. The Terra Cotta labels feature a 1918 photo of the factory, one of Lincoln’s most distinguished landmarks.

Rancho Roble, the only licensed commercial winery in Lincoln, participates in a number of local events, including the four annual tours put on by the Placer County Wine Grape Association and A Taste of Placer County.

During the summer, wine lovers can enjoy “Picnic Days” at the winery by calling to make an appointment to visit on Wednesdays and Sundays. Visitors bring their own lunch or pick up a box lunch at Lincoln Produce and purchase a chilled Rancho Roble selection. Mark provides glasses and a scenic picnic table overlooking the vineyard, followed by a private tour and tasting.
